ST. LEON’S CIRCUS
How would you like to be able to boast eighty-oho years and tho ability to bold an audienco in hysterics with now jokes for any time required? That is certainly something to bo proud ofj but tho man who does it has been at it so long that ho sees nothing extraordinary in tho unique performance. He is tho granddad of tho present generation of St. Loons, the famous circus family, and tho very mention of Gus St. Leon will conjure up happy memories of tho greatest talking clown South of tho Line in the minds of tho older circus-goers. “I’m going to be in this,” Sgpi tho old man when a tour of New Zealand was afoot, and ho caught tho first boat from Melbourne. Others in the “St. Leon Fun Factory” aro Jasper Peat and Adrian St. Leon. The latter is another talking clown. Jasper is a dummy, and not of tho stale antic type. " “Novelty” is hia slogan. The funny'men in the St. Loon outfit, when wording singly or together, play an important part m tho twenty new acts that the circus will introduce. St. Leons’ Circus opens for a short season next Thursday (September 15). 'They will ho located at Princes street, opposite the Oval. A special matinee for children will commence at 2.30 nest Saturday.
