GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Messrs Donald Reid and Co., Ltd,, report as under: Oats.—The market is firm, and there is a good inquiry for all -lines suitable for raiding. We quote: A Gartons, 3s Id ; B Cartons, 2s lid to 3s (sacks extra). Potatoes.—There is a good demand for freshly-picked Up-to-Dates. 'These are saleable at £2 12s 6d to £2 15s per ton, ex store (bags in). There is no demand for any lines that are out of condition and require picking. Chaff.—There is a good demand for prime chaff. Wo quote: £5 Ss to £5 7s 6d; medium to good, £4 15s to £5 (bags extra).
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows:
Oats. —Except for a fair demand for seed lines, the market is fairly quiet. We quote: A Gartons, 3s to 3s Id; good to best feed, 2s 9d to 2s lid per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes. —There is some demand foj freshly-picked lines, which are saleable at up to £2 15s, but all other sorts are neglected. Chaff.—The market is quiet. There is some little demand for prime oaten sheaf, but as arrivals are heavy prices have not firmed. We quote: Prime oaten sheaf, to £5 7s 6d; good to best feed, £5 to £5 5s per ton (sacks extra).
