WAREHOUSEMEN AT PLAY. The annual match between the teams from Messrs Hallenstein Bros., Ltd., and the D.I.C. took place on the Oval No. 1 ground on Saturday afternoon. Hallenatein Bros.’ team, whose backs wore too fast and nippy for their opponents, proved the victors by 32 points to 8, trios being scored by Thompson (3), Stark (2), Esquilant, Monk, Dessarthe, Patterson, and Abernethy. For the D.I.C. Holden kicked a penalty goal and Rood scored a converted try. OTAGO CENTRAL GAMES. DUNSTAN CREEK WIN SEYEN-A-SIDE. [Sfictal xo tux ‘Star.’] CLYDE, September 12. In the play-off for the final in the senior seven-a-side football in the Ranfurly tournament, Dunstan Creek beat Matakanni B by 4to 0. On the previous Saturday these teams bad played fifteen minutes without score, and, darkness coming on, further play was impossible. OTAGO HORSES FOR AUCKLAND. C. Christie had to take Mips Muriel and General Advance off the Katoa at Lyttelton, that vessel being delayed there. The pair were put on the ferry steamer and railed to Auckland.
