DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. The market continues quiet, no business being recorded this morning. Waihis, now quoted at 10s paid, were wanted at 19s 6d, but failed to attract any sellers. This company is paying 10s per chare on August 18. Mount Lyells are steady at 15s Id, buyer, 15s 2d seller. In investments, Bank of N.S.W.s have eased back to buyers at £35 and sellers at £35 ss; but Bank of N.Z.s are firm at 48s 6d buyer, 49s seller. N.Z. Insurances and South British hare firmed up, no doubt on account of the proposed amalgamation. Huddart-Parkers continue in demand at 45s 9d, but sellers remain at 46s 6d. Westport Coals were unobtainable at 275. Buyers of N.Z. Malay Rubbers have firmed, up to 6s, but sellers asked double that. Bruce Woollens came in for strong inquiry at 445, but no seller came forward under 50s. Papuan Products were wanted at Is Id, but sellers asked 2s. This company is offering 10 per cent, first mortgage debentures free of income tax. Perpetual Trustees were sought for at 345, but without attracting any sellers. Quotations: — —Mining.— ■
