HIGH-PRICED FAT STOCK,

Our Christchurch correspondent wires : Tho market at Addington Yards at Grand National time resolves itself into something in the nature of a fat stock show, and this year was no exception to tho rule. A ‘better collection of fat stock was never seen at Addington Yards. A number of North Island graziers were represented, as well as those from Southland and Otago. Several champion show bullocks were included in the northern consignments, and the cream of the south was included. There was a largo attendance of the public, and though prices did not go up to the big figures of last year, when a local butchering firm paid £204 for a bullock, there was never so mafiy high-priced cattle sold. There was very firm competition throughout. ‘ Tho best price (£7O) was paid by Dixon Bros, for a magnificently-fattened bullock, entered by C. Nordqvlst, of Methven. This bullock had an unbeaten show ring record at' Christchurch and other Canterbury shows. A new record for fat sheop was established, when four Suffolk wethers were sold on account of Geo. Gould at £ls per head.
