STOREMEN’S DISPUTES. The* hearing of the Dunedin wholesale Storemen’s Union’s dispute occupied the attention of tho Conciliation Commissioner a'4 yesterday afternoon. In tho wages clause it was agreed that casuals engaged but not put on should be paid one hour's wages, the union withdrawing the claim that casuals should he paid one hour’s pay for any part of an hour worked. The clauses as to the wages of casual workers (2s 4d an hour), permanent hands (£4 15s per week), and head storeman (£5 a week) were referred to the court. ' The wages of permanent hands employed in classing and grading rabbit and sheepskins, hides, and wool, the claim being £5 10s a week, was referred to the court; also the wages _of casnals similarly employed, the claim being 3s per hour. The claims made as_ to shift workers employed on seed-cleaning, grain-cleaning and crushing, and manure-mixing, outside tho hours in tho first clause and otherclaims in connection therewith, were referred to the courT.

The question of a fourteen days’ annual holiday (as claimed) was referred to tho court, and also that of casual workers being paid for all holidays worked after three months’ service.

The provision of overalls by tho employer for workers engaged in certain operations was agreed to, seed-cleaning being eliminated. As to handling heavy, goods, it was agreed that no worker should carry bags exceeding 2061 b weight. It was agreed that the award should apply to those employed in handling wool, hides, tallow, skins, hemp,' manure, grain, seed, or chaff. That the award was not to apply to head storeman was agreed upon, unless he was substantially employed at manual labbr.

The currency of the award was fixed at one year. A special condition regarding Oamaru was referred to the court, and also the question of the employment of youths.
