The Rescue Lodge of Good Templars, No. 105. met- on Tuesday evening in the Oddfellows’ Hall, King Kdward street, when Sister N. Workman (Chief Templar) presided. The Grand Chief Templar, Bro. Dalton, was present, and in the course of an address slated that the order was progressing steadily in New Zealand, a new lodge having been opened in Wellington on'Monday last; also that now Juvenile Temples had been opened in the same city, and that another new lodge was to be opened in Auckland in a very short time. Tho item on the syllabus was ‘Question Box,’ and tho questions submitted were both amusing and instructive, some causing quite a lot of discussion. Harmony was provided by Sisters Walts, Jells, and Dray, Bro. Sandilands replying to the vote to tho visitors on behalf of the Hope of Dunedin Lodge. Previous to the adult lodge the Star of the South Juvenile Temple met under tho control of the S.J.W. (Bro. Hilton) and C.T. (Sister Watts). The attendance was small, owing to the fact that a number were absent through sickness; but an enjoyable meeting was held, and quite a. largo number of items of harmony wore provided by the members. Notwithstanding tho extreme _ cold and snow last night there was quite a fair attendance at tho Bissett Mission meeting in Burns Hall. Mr Bissett took his subject from tho 116th Psalm, verso 15, where the Psalmist says in answer to the question “ What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits unto mo" that he would “ take the cup of deliverances.’’ Ho showed how the best way by which we can express our gratitude to God is by receiving yet more froip Him. The speaker told of three deliverances which Christ odors—deliverance from the burden of sin, from its bondage, and from the fear of failure. At the close of the address a solo was sung 'by Mr Bradley, who formerly was associated with Mr Bissett in his work in Auckland. After tho meeting a number expressed to Mr Bissett appreciation of his services, and told him of The good they had .received through them. To-night a special thanksgiving service will he held, commencing at, 7.45, at which delegations from other congregations where there have been missions will be present. LOOK FOR THE NEW DESIGN.
