PRISONERS SENTENCED
GOOD TERM FOR ASSAULT,

WELLINGTON, July 22. In the Supremo Court William Grant, chanted with, escaping from custody at Wellington and committing a violent assault on a Chinaman at Invercargill, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal Trevor Cargill, for the theft of £6OO from th© Union Bant, received a sentence of two years; Philip Paul, for bigamy, three years 1 reformative treatment; Henry Turner (forgery), twelve months; arid James Greseu (theft and forgery), two years.
