MISS MARIE NILSSON
■Miss Mario Nilsson gave hoi- second conceit in the Burns Hall on Saturday. Though the audience was again _ disap pointing in point of numbers, it was larger than on the first appearance of this siimcr, showing that she made a favorable impression on her initial effort. A comprehensive and varied programme was presented on Saturday night, giving Miss Nilsson plenty of opportunity to display her vocal abilities. Her efforts were warmly applauded by the audience, and if she returns to Duendin at a more favorable time, when entertainments are not so .numerous as they were last week, she will probably be more adequately recompensed for her work. She lias a remarkable voice, her technique is good, and she Iras youth and vigor, with its consequent enthusiasm which impresses an audience. Mr Max Scherek at the piano helped materially in making the concert a success. His solos were Chopin’s ‘ Ballade in A Flat’ and a Schumann number.
