PUBLIC WORKS TENDERS
Cabinet has accepted tenders as follow :
For the supply of 10,000 tons of steel rails and fishplates for railway purposes, John Duthio and Co., Wellington. The contract price, was £l7 0s 5d per ton for the rails, and £2l Is 8d per ton for the fishplates. The total amount of the contract is £176,058 8s 4d. Garage at Addington, George White, Lmwood, £2,251; four electrical 250 k transformers, Lake Coleridge scheme, the National Electric American Company, £3,157; four 120 k transformers, the same company, £2,046 (conversion rate for £1 sterling fixed at 4dol); one 100 k threephase transformer, Tolley and Son, Wellington, £930.
