■ ■ ■ • * TRANSPORT; FEDERATION’S ADVICE : RETURN TO WORK. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright Australian and N.Z.„ Cable Association. . SYDNEY, December 25. The Transport Workers’. Federation has recommended the stewards to return tb their ships as soon as possible on the best terms obtainable from the owners, the federation being of the opinion that it is inadvisable to prolong the strike while there are innumerable unemployed in the Commonwealth. The stewards’ meeting decided to defer the proposal for the resumption of work until after the holidays, the impression being that they are anxious to spend Christmas ashore.
