LATE SHIPPING

All work on the shipping in port ceased at noon to-day. Operations will be resumed at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. The American wooden steamer Broxton left Newcastle at 8 a.m. fcnday for Port Chalmers with a cargo of coal for the New Zealand Railways. The Te Anau arrived at Lyttelton at 7.30 a.m. to-day from Napier and Wellington. The Katoa arrived at Lyttelton at 7.30 a.m. to-day from Westport. She will complete her discharge at Timaru.

The Karapoi left at 6 p.m. on Wednesday with a cargo of hardwood for Bluff and a quantity of steel for Greymouth.
