The annual summoned meeting of Loyal Oamaru Lodge was well attended. Per. Sec. Couper controlled the installation of the following officers:—G.M., Bro. W. Roxburgh; M.G., Bro. Geo. M’Kenzie; E.S., Bro. A. Hoare; warden, Bro. Atkinson; guardian, Bro. A. M. Cairns. The retiring G.M., Bro. Robson, was presented with a P.G.’s sash and apron. Motions of condolence were passed by the lodge in sympathy with two of its members who have suffered family bereavements. One proposal for membership was received, and, a short social function brought to a conclusion one of the most successful year’s working in the lodge’s history. Loyal Dalton Lodge, Balclutha, had a record attendance at the annual summoned meeting. Prov. D.G.M. Bro. Thos. Middlemas attended and received a cordial welcome. The principal item on the agenda paper was a proposition to dispose of the hall property. After much discussion and careful consideration the proposal was carried unanimously, and a committee, with full power to act, was appointed to deal with the matter A motion to increase the contribution to the incidental fund was held over. The election and installation of officers was deferred until the first meeting in January. N.G. Bro. Gilliand presided over a full meeting of the Loyal Caversham Lodge on Wednesday evening. The sick visited’ report disclosed a fairly good state of health among members. One new member was initiated. Tim N.G. extended an invitation to members of sister lodges to attend the annual meeting on Wednesday next, when items of interest to all lodges will be dealt with. The annual summoned meeting of Loyal Albion on Thursday evening lacked its usual yim. Apart from the initiation of a candidate and the installation of officers, it calls for little comment. Officers for the ensuing terms—G.M., Bro. M'Lennan; N.G., Bro. G. Milburn; V.G., Bro. E. Schofield; E.S., Bro. E. H. Downes.; warden, Bro. W. J. M Donald ; and guardian, Bro. Smith—were duly installed under the direction of the Prov. G.M. G.M. Bro. M'Lennan was appointed Press correspondent. The toast of the D.E. was responded to by the Prov. G.M. and Prov. Treasurer, who reviewed the splendid enthusiasm displayed during the past vear and impressed upon members the necessity of continuing in the same spirit during the coming year. Representatives of Loyal Mosgiel and all City lodges wore present, and conveyed fraternal greetings. ’ A very large attendance greeted N.G. Bro. Turnbull at the meeting of Loyal Middlemarch on the 14th inst. The following officers were elected for the ensuing term:—G.M., Bro. J. Turnbull; N.G.° Bro. G. Robertson; V.G., Bro. E. Carter; E.S., Bro. R. Leslie; warden, Bro. Mooreguardian. Bro. Ponton; conductor, P.g’. Bro. Messent. All of these suitably returned thanks.
