«> _ AT THE EMPIRE. No artist on the London stage is better known to the Australasian " diggers " than Elsie Janis,' who is now a star in Selznick • pictues. Elsie Janis appeared some weeks ago in 'The Imp,' and her second feature, ' A Regular Girl/ is to commence at O'Brien's Empire to-day. This picture has had the distinction of being screened -before H.R.H. the Prince of Wales when in America, and it is reported that the Prince liked it so well that he asked for a copy to be placed on board the Renown. Thejv; are many novel scenes throughout it, including those which show an entire circus in full blast, and a trip through Coney Island's Luna Park. The characters in the play are picked from the stage of Ijfe itself. The story is of one Elizabeth Schuyler, who sets out to prove that women even of "the butterfly type can serve"their fellow-beings quite as well as the opposite sex. There are moments of tender heart appeal as well as highlyhumorous episodes.
