The following applications for assistance were dealt with at yesterday's meeting of the Otago District Repatriation Board:—Business loans: Ten applications were received, of which five were approved, one was withdrawn, and four were declined. Furniture loans: Seventeen applications were received, of which 13 were recommended and four were held over. 'Two soldiers nnable to follow their pre-war occupation were placed in new trades and their wages subsidised. Four applications for university and technical training were received.
