MUTTON CARCASSES REFUSED. At Lyttelton yesterday the White Star liner Runic commenced to load the local t/ww? mutton, consisting of 30,000 carcasses. Some few hundred carcasses had been loaded when the refrigerating engineer of the vessel refused to take delivery of the mutton, and the carcasses were unshipped .again. A total of 16 large car loads were refused, the ground of the -refusal being that the meat had greatly deteriorated and showed signs of monldiness. Connolly (West Australian Agent-General) has been instructed to bring-to the notice of the Imperial Government a complaint thqt “a London financial ring is making millions out of Australian fruit.” The National Federation of the Fruit Trades’ Association have protested to Mr Connolly that the is and misleading, and is asking him'to receive a deputation of importers on the subject.—A. and N.Z.
