SPORTING

D.J.C. SPRING MEETING. By Old Identity. These races commence at Wingntui tomorrow with a most attractive programme. If the fine weather continues the track will be in capital order. The first race is at 12.15. „ San Sebastian and Calma will probably be backed freely in the Spring Hurdles. The Maungatua. Handicap looks like, a puzzle, but it may be supposed that Link ITp, Barley Rigs, and Will Prosper will command attention. As we are not to have Sir George Clifford represented in the M'Lean Stakes, hackers will probably bo undecided as to what to make favorite. Songbird, Calibration, and Limelight may perhaps be fancied. Nightrnider is sure to have friends lor the Mosgiel Handicap, and Kilrush, Melee, and Thaddeus are likely to shape well. Orange Mart, one of the Trial Stakes candidates, is in the Guineas the second day. The Electric be expected to provide a good race. Radial is bound to be fancied after his Kurow run, and Sunny Corner and Michaela read as well as any of the others. Cannie Jack and Sunny Loch have credentials for the Taioma Handicap. Primum and Miss Camouflage (if reserved) may run well in the October Welter.
