O.R.F.TJ. Mr H. Harris presided over the "weekly meeting of the Otago Rugby Union Committee held last evening. Mr E. P. Allen, secretary of tho South Tuapeka Sub-union, wrote stating that the »üb-union that had existed before the war had been re-formed. He asked that ■the sub-union should be affiliated _ with the union. There were three clubs in the Bub-union—Miller's Flat, Coal, Greek, and "Roxburgh".—Affiliation agreed -to. It was. reported that three or four new teams were available from the Technical CoUego.—lt was decided that the boys shonld be given their first game on the Caledonian Ground on Saturday, Messrs A. M'Donald and S, Styche to have charge of the team 3. Messrs A. Brown and H. Alexander waited as a deputation from the Southern Club to ask permission for their teams to train on the Oarisbrook Ground.—Permission granted. The deputation else asked the committee to construct a dressing shed at Bathgate Park. The President said that the union hoped to have a dressing shod erected before the beginning of next season/ The secretary was Instructed to write to the City Council In regard to the.matter, Mr L. V. Carmine, hon. secretary of the Buller Rugby "Union, wrote extending a hearty welcome to an Otago team. Ho said the. team could depend on a. substantia! guarantee.—The Chairman said he had met the delegates of the Buller, West Coast, and Nelson Unions at the meeting of the New Zealand Union held last week. They had been all very keen that an Otago team should visit these localities this year. A touring team would do a lot of good to football on the Coast, where the League game was making some progress. Under the existing arrangement Otago had not intended to tour this year, with the exception of the team to be sent to Southland.—lt was decided to set up a sub-committee consisting of Messrs Styche, Nelson, and Stuart to go into the question of the possibility of sending an Otago team to the West Coast and Nelson this year. Mr H. E. Combs, secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union, wrote asking for nominations of Otago players for tho South Island team. The selection of 20 men to visit New South Wales would be , .made after the North and South Island match had been played.—Referred to the Otago Selection Committee (Messrs A. M'Donald, B. M. Stuart, and W. Brown). The following referees were appointed to officiate at the seven-a-side tournament to be played on Saturday :—Messrs R. Torrance, J. Hay. A. Eckhold, A. E. Bilcliff, R. Herd. J. King, J. Sutherland, and J. B. Harrhy. The following clubs have entered teams :—Union, Kaikorai, 'Port Chalmers, Alhambra, University, Zingari-Richmond, Pirates, Dunedin. O.F.A. Before commencing business,, the Chairman asked those present to stand as a mark of respect to the late Mr T. S. Culling, and the executive passed a resolution to the effeci that a letter of condolence be sent to Mts Culling on her Fad bereavement. The. Canterbury Football Association advised that their team would leave Christehurch on Wednesday and return on the following Friday. Messrs Bissett/ Woods. Spencer, Dowker, and Norman would be included in the team, which would be thoroughly representative of the . province apd capable of giving a fine display of Soccer football.—Arrangements in connection with the match were completed, and it was decided to entertain the visitors at tea after the game, and in the evening at the theatre. A letter from tho town clerk of St. Kilda in reference to the lease of Culling Park was received, and after discussion it was decided to refer the whole matter to the association's solicitor. A communication from the secretary of - the New Zealand Football Association in regard to the interpretation by referees <■>? laws-No. 6 and 8 was passed on-to the Referees' Club. An application from Mr G. S. Proctor for the use of a' ground to play a match against a Kaitangata. team on June 3 was granted, subject to play starting at 11.30 a.m. . The ground allotted was Oval No. 1. The draw for Saturday is the same as that published for last Saturday, with the exception of Kaitangata and Northern; who will each have a bye.
