SCOTTISH CONCERTS
On .Ycanesday nnd Thursday evenings four Scottish concerts will be* given bv the Otago Centre of the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand in aid of the £450 prizes for the present piobw and Dancing competitions in Burns riaJL J /. !e t lo| ir concerts will take place in the King’s Theatre and-Burns Hall, a concert each hall the two evenings. These eiueitamments in two halls on two consecutive evenings are necessary because hundreds of intending patrons liad to bo turned awav last year from His Majesty's theatre, which holds nearly 2.000. The best performers have been secured for ooth halls, including Misses Smith, Bainc. Guy, Miller, Torrance, Hughes, Mazeugarb, Geddes (2), Messrs Joiies (Malaura), \V. 11. Mackenzie, \V. Harrison, \ Rawlinsnn. P. M’Carthy. J. S. Deukcr. J. R. Brown, and G. and L. Death together with the St. Hilda Rand ’and several of the champion pipers and dancers irom all parts of the Dominion. Judgingby the calibre of the performers and the all-round excellence of the programmes, it K expected that even the two halls will be fully taxed both nights. The full programme tor the four concerts on the two evenings will appear in our issue of to-morrow.
