OTAGO TRADES COUNCIL.
*- TO THE EDIXOE. Ehy—J notice that the Otago Trades Council are going to cut the painter from the federation of Labor. I am not in the least surprised. If the council had; stood by the old system of having three memberfe as delegates from all the unions in the council, instead of a selected party of Socialists, the political policy of Labor would have a place in the sun as far as Dunedin is concerned. As a. loyal xmionist, ihe council ought to invite" all registered trade unions to a conference, and have a new council, stock, lock, and barrel. 3fo person should be allowed on the council who is an employer of labor; everyone ishonld show proof that he is gaining his livelihood as a worker and member of a union.—l am, etc., t • i» , Unionisi.
