OUTLOOK SATISFACTORY
[Special to the • Star.']
CHRISTCHimcH, Mav 11. „- vh ; " • „ Alu , rra . v ? general manager ot tne N.Z. _ Refrigerating Company, holds a cheering view in regard to the i reeling position. He said to-dav there was an_ erroneous impression that the companies generally were at "the end or then- tether" lor space, but such was not- the case. Provided the shipping that is expected comes to hand the most of the companies will bo able to continue operations throughout June, and probably into July. In the meantime it is necessary to limit operations to a minimum as space is at presentvery short; but as stated, the shipping that is scheduled to arrive shortly will improve the position. Probably* close on '25 per cent, of tlie South "island season is still to be dealt with. This
estimate embraces the southern, works, | • )ier& the season; of course, is much .■aor than in Canterbury, and unless! something unexpected occurs in the! present shipping- arrangements the ! season should be got through successfully.. In the meantime of course the position prevents handling the maxi- i mum amount of stock. - [
