WHARF LABOR £6 A DAT. Darwin wharf laborers’ wages, according to Melbourne Herald,’ amounted to £76 10s each for 13 days’ work, loading the steamer Townsville. The wharf laborers recently demanded and were granted 5s an hour for day work, 7s 6d for night work, and 10s an hour on Sunday.
