T.M.C.A. BOYS’ BANQUET
The annual banquet under the auspices of the i.M.G.A. Boys’ Division was hold ■ last owning 102 enthusiastic boys attend- I tng. Mr L. Gain occupied the chair. Drew (general secretary), | who m a tew words thanked the bovp for their lova-lty to the association, and urged ‘ them to cuter heartily into all the activi- I ties this year. j In proposing the toast of'“ The Boys’! Division, ’ thejtev. It, Watson spoke very j strongly upon the need of every boy | standing true' to the association's ideals . and developing his life spiritually, men- ; tally, and physically to make the all-iouiul ! man. He explained that the time would arrive when the opportunity would net come as readily as it does now for them to mould tueir lives in readiness for tlie bigger tasks to come, and they w'ould do well to take ©very opportunity that the Boys’ Division offered to strengthen their jives to accept the responsibilities of manhood. Mr H. P. D-ssinoulins, chairman of the Boye'_ Division, thanked the speaker, and explained to the boys just- what opportunity the association gyve them to till i in their Jleisur© time profitably. He showed how dilueulties arose in the management of such a work as this, and put it up to each boy to endeavor to increase the membership and assist in .every way lie could towards the success of the work. * Mr Ficol outlined the work to ho carried out this year, and asked every boy to do something to assist the association, to cany 1 out work for the bovs of Dunedin. Mr G. Anderson proposed the toast of “ Other Activities,” which was responded to by Mt J. V. Hanna, who spoke of the immense opportunity that the association offers for boys’ activities. In taking part in these activities Mr Hanna explained that the hoys were developing their lives ! and growing into an all-round manhood. I Items were rendered by Messrs 11. Don, W. Common, L. Gain, and J. Hendry, Mr Don presiding at the piano. Cheers were called for the lady helpers, and the meet--nig concluded with the National Anthem. I
