HOLY INNOCENTS’ CHURCH
The annual meeting of Holy Innocents’ Church, Woodhaugh, was held on Thursday of this week, the vicar (Canon Nevlll) presiding. The report showed a most successful year. The offertories were £5 hotter than the previous record. Tho guild contribution was also a record, likewise the parish subscriptions for the year. The churchwardens and committee were to bo congratulated on the excellent results shown. Votes of thanks were accorded the Ladies’ r.nd Girls’ Guild, churchwardens, Messrs Edgar and Geoffrey Clarke, Church Committee Messrs Scales, Hogg, Dean. Munro, Moffit’ Fletcher, George Clark, Sydney Clarke. Mr Hogg had done most valuable service as lay reader, aided by Messrs West and Grater at various times. Mr Geoffrey Clarke had, with the choir, helped to make the services bright and hearty in every way; and thanks were due to Miss Cox for her interest in the church, and to the Sunday school teachers and church workers for their sustained interest in the church. After tho formal business was concluded tea and refreshments, followed by games and dancing, were enjoyed by all, Mrs Macdonald very kindly officiating at the piano. Mr Applegarth, an old resident of the Valley, was re-elected a member of the committee after an absence of 16 years.
