LORD JELLICOE APPOINTED [Pkh Ukitsd Press • Association.} WELLINGTON, April 16. The Governor-General announces that the King has been pleased to appoint Ad-miral-of-the -Fleet Viscount Jellicoe of Scapa, G.C.8., 0.M., G.V.C.0., to succeed the Earl of Liverpool as Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of the Dominion of New Zealand. Viscount (John Rush-worth) Jellicoe of Scapa was born on December 5. 1859, and adopted a navy career. In 1882, at the bombardment of Alexandra, Lord Jellicoe first saw fighting, along with Lieutenant Kitchener. Over 30 years later Lord Jellicoe and Lord Kitchener stood at the head of Great Britain’s sea and land for->s in the world’s greatest war.
