MOSGIEL ANGLICAN CHURCH

The annual meeting of the above church ■ was held last evening in the Oddfellows' | Hall, Mosgiel, Rev, S. J. Cooper (vicar) . presiding over an attendance of about 60. j The report as read showed that the affairs of the church were in a satisfactory condition, the attendances at services being greatly improved. The balanee-sheel showed the "finances to bo in a healthy stute, the yenr's working resulting, in a credit of £l4 16s. The report and balancesheet were adopted as; read. The election of office-bearers resulted: Vestrymen —Messrs Dunnery, Gieseler, Clarkj Davidson, F. Cheyne, Lindsay, and A F. Cheyne; secretary, 'Mr Lindsay; treasurer,- Mr A. F. Cheyne- (re-elected). On the motion of Messrs Cheyne and Clark, the matter of a bonus to the vicar ; was referred to thej Vestry with power j to act.

Votes of thanks were pissed to the organist, Sunday School teachers, -Ladies' Guild, collectors, .and the ladies who attended to the altar flowers. _ , lb was decided to send a letter of appreciation to Mr Andrews, ex-lay reader, who is shortly leaving for Wellington. The business concluded, a concert programme was rendered as follows : —Pianoforte solo, Miss Harrison; song, Miss Grant; pianoforte solo. Miss Waldie; song, Mr R. Gibson; piano and violin duet, Mr and Mrs Lindsay ; trio, Mesdames Beale (2-) and Mr Gibson; song. Miss H. Cheyne; song, Mr A. F. Cheyne; duet, Mesdames Beale; song, Mr- F. Cheyne. Supper was thon served, after which dancing was indulged in for a couple cf hours to" music provided by Miss Harrison, several yc'ung ladies contributing extras.
