At the meeting at Christchurch of the Patriotic Fund Committee, correspondence between the Lady Liverpool fund and the Minister of Internal Affairs was read, relative to the disposal of £4,000 out of tho surplus of the Lady Liverpool fund, to be vested in the Canterbury patriotic fund trustees, to accumulate with compound interest for tho purpose of establishing the nucleus of a fund for the foundation of a veterans’ home or a homo for disabled soldiers of the Canterbury military area. The Lady Liverpool Fund Committee considered that it might be some yeans before such a home was needed, but it was their earnest wish that some provision other than that through the ordinary charitable aid channels and pensions should be inside for tho future care of men handicapped through war service. The Minister advised that it was quite m order for the Lady Liverpool iund to hand the money over to the patriotic fund with the suggestion that the sura be earmarked for a veterans’ home, the balance of the surplus to bo employed for general relief of soldiers and their dependents. The patriotic- fund executive accepted the offer and appointed a committee to consult with the donors as to details. A cure that is sure—“FTAZOL.” Sends coughs and colds packing in double-quick time.
