Yesterday the City Fire Brigade were called out on three occasions to deal with grass and hedge fires. The first call was shortly before 1 p.m., and originated in a hedge catching fire in .Somerville stre-t, Anderson Bay. The second call, at 2.30 p.'m., was to Easther crescent, Cavershnn. where some ‘grass had ignited, and the third, at 6 o’clock, was to a grass fire at the Woodhangh Gardens.
