ORANGE RESOLUTIONS

The Orange Grand Lodge ocntinned their meeting at Wanganui yesterday . Resolutions were passed calling on the New Zealand Government to malce emphatic, representations to tlie British Government against the continuance of the envoy to the Vatican, and'demanding that the t3overnment safeguard the State system of education. > Demand was also mads for the immediate' removal of all concessions grants, or privileges to denominational schools, and for the granting to the Education Department adequate finances for the necessary accommodation at these Schools; and another resolution called on the Government to remove a J P, and a civil servant who were reported ro have attended the Irish Race Convention in Melbourne, which approved of Sinn Feinism in Ireland and supported the demand for an Irish Republic. Regret was recorded at the United Btates’s resolution demanding selMdetermination for Ireland; and a motion was passed conveying to the King an expression of tiie Grand Lodge’s profound loyalty to His Majesty’s person and the ancient throne of Britain, and to the Empire .of whose unity the throne is the duel bond ana the enduring symbol.
