OBITUARY

Mr Matthew Henderson, who died at his residence, Anderson Bay, on Saturday, aged 73 years, was-well known ns a storekeeper at Milburn for many years. He was also senior partner in the firm of Henderson and Gray, which, under contract with the Alilburn Lime and Cement Company, did that organisation’s lime burning and quarrying at the Alilburn works until about eight years ago. , On retiring, Air Henderson came to Dunedin. ’He -was a member of "Ihe Bay Town Board, and when that area joined the City, he eat in the City Council for some time. _ Mr A. W. Cave, well known in sporting circles, and a very old settler in the Waxrarapa, died on Sunday, in his eightieth year. There passed away at Oamaru on Saturday, after a short illness, Air Walter John Bowden Radford, at the age of 60 (says the Oamaru ‘ Alail ’). Air Radford had for many years held the position of chief porter on the Oamaru railway station, ■where he had been a well-known figure to all travellers on the north line. Mr Benjamin Here, who died in Wellington recently, was once a noted wrestler in Otago and on the West Coast. Ho was 71 years of age.
