‘OUR REVEILLE.’ The spectacular extravaganza ‘ Our Reveille,’ which was staged for a season of 16 nights at Christchurch, will open at His Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday, April 14, for a season of 12 nights. There are more than 255 talented amateurs in the production, seven vocal soloists, and 45 separate and distinct numbers, 24 of which are songs, in which the soloists arc supported by a strong chorus of nut less than 22 voices, and in many cases a special dance added. There are three solo dancers, including Miss Dorothy White, of Christchurch, who will dance with MiLints in two acrobatic dances with cabaret settings. Miss White (according to report) can bear comparison with any professional acrobatic dancer 'that has visited New Zealand. There are eight ballets, which include the Black and White, Bonbon, celebrated Dutch, Chinese, Indian, Military, Flying, and dainty Rose Ballet. A feature of the production will be numbers by schoolgirls, which include human statuary, spectacular marches, clog dancing (squads of 24 girls in each item). The ‘ Human Fountain ’ specialty is said to be a lesson in accuracy and precision, some of the figures being formed in eight seconds. The electrical marches (150 perioimers), a brilliant stage spectacle entitled ‘The Grand Liberty March,’ introducing the escalade. Twenty-seven Red Cross nurses at play (introducing the “Caterpillar” step), and exhibitions of the latest Hesitation waltz and Argentine Fox Trot, with cabaret and futuristic settings, the ( popular ‘Whistle It’ number, supported ’by 26 Jack Tars, the sweet Japanese number ‘ Poor Butterfly ’ (with chorus of 40), and the great March of All Nations by more than 100 performers —these are among the first night’s selections. Although the name remains the same, the programme will be changed every third night.
