TRAM STRIKE SETTLED
[Pep. United Peess Association.] AUCKLAND, March 29. . As the result of a conference between the Mayor and the Tramway Union representatives, the Sunday strike caused by the discharge of a number of motormen and conductors for alleged breaches of the traffic regulations has been settled. The suspension of ons conductor was upheld. The motormen are to be medically examined as to their fitness for work. Two motormen and qne conductor were reinstated. The Mayor says tho corporation expect tlfe utmost diligence on the part of conductors in the collection of fares. The union representatives have given an undertaking that they will duly respect authority and uphold discipline.
