WITH SCOTT TO THE SOOTH POLE

' The Undying Story of Captain Scott' and 'Animal Life in the Antarctic' will be the attractions at the Octagon Theatre, commencing this evening. Devotees of animated photography have in store for them a veritable carnival of adventure and pictorial grandeur of a hitherto unillustrated world, the South Polar Continent, as filmed by Mr Herbert G. Pouting, F.R.G.S., official camera artist with the Captain Scott Antarctic Expedition. Out of 25,000 feet of film made, 6,000 feet, the very best obtained, have been selected for exhibition purposes. What more brave and tragic event than that of Captain Gates, who had lost his hands and feet, and who,, to save his, comrades, deliberately " went out," saying, " I am going outside, and may be some time-." This set of films, slides, and lecture only last night concluded the record run fur a picture in Christchurch, having been shown for two .consecutive weeks at the Grand Theatre. So great was the demand for seats that extra sessions were given daily at 9.30 a.m. The lecture which accompanies this exclusive set of pictures tells (graphically the whole story from start to finish,, and is finely told by the well-known raconteur, Mr Walter Searle.
