PUBLIC CURIOSITY. "CHEER UP, OLD BOY 1" [Peh TJiuted Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 26. Dennis Gunn was charged in the Police Court this morning with the murder of Aur.;?.tus Richard ~ Braithwaite and the theft of £97 from the Ponsonby Post Office. A great crowd awaited the prisoner's arrival at the doorway. Some one called out " cheer up." A well-dressed woman prccd forward and shook hands with accused, and a young man took a similar privilege, with the Temark " Cheer up, old boy." Prisoner was visibly affected by the?e expressions of sympathy. Givnn, with folded arms, appeared siightlv nervous while the charge was read. The police ' asked for a. remand till Thursday, which was granted.
