Yet another doctor has fallen a victim to his devotion to his work in the cause of science and humanity. Dr. C. R. C. Lyster has had to retire from his work in the X-ray laboratories of the Middlesex Hospital, incapacitated (says the 'DailyChronicle') by the paralysing effects of frequent exposure to the rays. Dr Lyster has devoted practically the whole of his life to the cause of humanity in an endeavor to find a cure for the terrible scourge «f cancer. Ho is, indeed, one of the pioneers of research into the medical use of the X-rays. Nearly a quarter -"of a century ago he was working upon this' complex and dangerous problem.
