TO THE KDITOB. Sir, —When are the authorities in charge going to commence operations to put in the groynes or some protection against the seas, that are washing away the sandhills daily ? This matter is now very serious, and if any of the public wish to see what is happening they should visit the beach to-night at 0 o'clock (high tide is not until 7 o'olock) and observe for themselves that it is only a matter of timo that the sea will break through and the "Flat" will be under water. During the last 12 montSs 40ft of roadway and about 50ft deep of sandhills have been washed away.—l am, etc., E. L. Macasset. March 25.
