Bates) supplied the following at noon to-day : —Wind (freshening) northerly, strong to gale, and backing by north t<> west; increasing haze and cloudiness for change; barometer falling soon; sea moderate and increasing; tides good. ARRlVED.—December 16. Kotare, s.s. (10.5 a.m.), 141 tons, Mumby, from Bluff. The auxiliary cutter Variance, which has been purchased by an Auckland syndicate, had her compasses adjusted' this morning. The vessel will probablv sail to-night for Auckland. The Ivaramu left Np'v Plymouth last night for West-port, where she will load coal for Lyttelton. The Navua, which arrived at Auckland last_ evening from Dunedin and way ports, is" timed"to"sail on Monday iu>jrt for Fiii ionga, and fsamoa. The Katoa left Auckland late for Newcastle, wlufre she will load coal for Wellington. The Kaitangata. which left Wellington last night for Newcastle, will load coal there for Auckland. The Rosamond left Oamaru at 9 last night for Wellington. She will afterwards load at the latter port for New Plymouth. The Corinna is to leave New Plymouth on Thursday with a cargo of dairy pi induce for Wellington. She will be despatched from the latter port early next week for Dunedin. The Maheno arrived at Sydney at 4 a.m. yesterday from Auckland. She is timed to sail on the return voyage to-morrow afternoon. The Tahiti, en route from Newcastle to Vancouver, arrived at Suva yesterday. The Kaituna is expected to leave Auckland to-night for where she will load coal for Auckland. The Kotare is to sail to-morrow for Bluff and: Riverton. vShe will afterwards go to .Stewart Island to load timber for Dunedin. '["he weather was fine on the West Coast io-dav.
