MINISTERING CHILDREN'S LEAGUE

A meeting of the committee -was attpnded by Miss Ross (Columba College, in the chair), Mesdames Ramsav, Tlieomin, Lindo Ferguson, J. M. Gallawav, Fulton, Miss Ramsay, and Mis2 Williams (hon. secretary). Before the meeting the members were met by Mr F. G. Gumming, secretary of the Patients and Prisoners' Aid Society, who put before them a scheme suggesting that the league should, if possible, avail themselves of the use of Jhe new convalescent home at Warrington. The committee discussed the matter sympathetically, and decided to donate £IOO, which will allow them to have a room in the home capable of holding two children, and which will always be at the league's disposal. The annual report stated : Since writing the last report little of interest has happened. So far as the league are concerned, the great event has been the ending of the awful war, and with that we are hoping the interests of the league may become mora alive again among* the school children who during war time were devoting their energies to works more nearly connected with, the wax. Now that is over, tve are sure everyone agrees that there is no greater work for the good of mankind and the future of the world than the welfare and care of children. We urge, therefore, all those who have tho interests of these little ones at heart to do their utmost to help in this good cause. During the year relief ha 3 been given in six cases—children of two families, per the Rev. Vincent King t two little girls went to Mrs Beckitt's, Waikouaiti, for whom applications were made by Sister Laura and the North-east Valley deaconess; one little girl to Shag Point, recommended by Sister Elizabeth; and one child from St. Mary's Orphanage was hoarded out, -when convalescent after diphtheria. At 'Christmas time the secretarv forwarded £5 each to St. Mary's Orphanage, Glendming Home, and Salvation Army Orphanage, to be used for gifts or treats for the children. Very grateful fetters of thanks were received from each Jnstitution. The committee desire to tender their sinoereflt thanks to Mrs Beckitt Waikouaiti, for tie great care and attend tion 3ho givea to any children placed in her charge. The true proof of their napis that they always want to stay longer. _^_^
