(Before H. T. Widdowson, Esq., S.M.) Drunkenness.—A. first offender, an elderly man with a badly knocked about face, who described himself as having been a cook at ’lrentham and Featberston, and who was obviously very shaky with drink, was remanded for seven days for medical attention.—Morris Mannheim, an old age pensioner, was convicted arid discharged. A Brawl,—John Williams and Michael Delaney _ were jointly charged with using threatening behaviour in Moray place last evening, a breach of the peace. The man _ Williams gave a practical demonstration in the’ dock of what he alleged to have occurred. He said the other fellow ■ seized him by the collar and pulled him round (suiting action to word), and they both fell. Delaney claimed on the other hand that he got a punch on the 6ar, and turned round and lashed out.—Senior-sergeant Murray summed up the matter, with his account, viz., “.The men were fighting ‘good-oh. “Delaney,” he added, “was a returned soldier.” Each was fined 20s, in default seven days’ imprisonment, and each was allowed time to find the sum.
