The market wag active this morning, and a lai-go volume of business took place. Talismans are firm and were sold at lis 6d (2). lis 9d, and 12s, closing with a buyer at 12s, and a. seller at 12s 6d. . Waihis are also strong and were in demand at 48s, but sellers asked 495. Grand Junctions and Mount L yells were both on the market, but without "buyers. In the investment section, P. and O. (deferred) have had a sharp rise- and were sold at £t>os (5), closing with further inquiry at that price. and a seller at £606. Sales were booked iu Huddarts at 47s and 47s 3d (2). the market closing firmer with a buyer at 47s od, and a seller at 48s. Westport Goals iiro fairly steady and a parcel changed hands at 30s, with further support "at that figure, but no seller, dominion Rubbers were wanted at 41s 3d, but sellers a*kod 41s 6d. New Zealand Refrigerators were, sold at 975, the market closing with a. buyer offering 975, no sellers under 100s. "Mosgiel Woollens ore a shade easier and were sought for at £6 Is with sellers at 4s more. Goldsb rough Morts have firmed up, and a transaction took place at 47s 9d_. with a further purchaser at 47s 6s. Sugar ■'£ Milkd are easier and were offered at 35s 3d, the best buyer being 34s 6d.
