CITY POLICE COURT. (Before H. Y. Widdo'wsou, Esq., S.M.) Drunkenness.—Two first offenders were each fined 10s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. —A third offenders, who did not ; appear, was fined 20s, tho amount of bail, i in default 43 hours’ imprisonment.—John j Forrester (who, tho sub-inspector said, had ! been indulging in & “bout” of drinking, I and who hud a record of previous convic- ! tions for similar offences) was lined £3, | with the alternative of 14 days’ imprisonment, and had a prohibition order taken out against him.—Charles Freoling, who also had previous convictions, was fined £3. in default 14 days’ imprisonment, and ihad a prohibition order issued against him. Charge of Using Obscene Language. I—Andrew M’Cunn was charged with using obscene language in George street-.—Mr B. S. Irwin appeared for accused, and asked for a remand. —The police raising no objection, tho Magistrate remanded accused till Friday. Remanded.—Charles Banwell, charged with attempting to commit suicide, was remanded for eight days, the sub-inspector stating that the man was still in hospital j with a fractured jaw. j By-laws.—-Thomas Thomson Cuddie, for j driving a motor car at night without a was fined 10», with costs (7»).
