There is every prospect of the Vancouver mail service, which has been practically disorganised for some time past, as a result of the Labor strikes ;n Canada and the influenza epidemic in Australia, again £etiling down to contract time-table running. .'ihe Niagara-, winch arrived at Auckland over two weeks ago from Vancouver, had been detained at the northern port waiting for through passengers for Canada to arrive by the Manuka from Sydney. When the Manuka did reach Auckland she was placed in quarantine owing to an outbreak of influenza amongst the passengers ami crew, and in ccnsequerice of thia the sailing date cf the Niagara was put off from "day to day. The passengers, however, embatked yesterday, and the liner sailed from Auckland at 6 p.m. on tho outward voyage to Suva, Honolulu, and Vancouver. She is due at the Canadian port on July 13. Latest advices received by the Union Company state that the R.M.S. Makura is expected to leave Vancouver or. June 28 for Honolulu. Suva, and Auckland. This vessel arrived at the Canadian port on June 3, and was held up owing to the Labor strikes. The message received by the Union Company indicates that there is every prospect of a settlement of the Labor troubles within a few Jays. If the Makura sails on June 28 she should arrive at Auckland about July 16.
