COOL STORAGE COMPANY

FIRST ANNUAL MEETING. Tho first annual meeting of the Otago Dairy Producers.' Cool Storage Company was held this morning, Mr \\'m. Blnekio (chairman of directors) presiding. There was an attendance of 10 shareholders.

The directors' report stated that the first meeting to consider the question of cheese storage was held on August 4, 1917. At tin's meet-in a; it was decided that the business lje arranged so thai- the factories should become proprietors of the -rcol store. Meeting's were held at Waikouaiti, JloDiona, and Ikilclutha, nt which nearly all the factories ware represented, and it was unanimously decided to form a company for the purpose of building a cool store- in Dune-din. A meeting of Provisional directors was held on October 35, .1917, when Messrs M'Gill and Ron's ton' der of £4,279 was accepted for the. buikling. Tho Government agreed to a loan of £2.500 free of interest for two years, and this amount was received from the Government on .March 5, 1913. The rates of storage were iixed by the directors and all arrangements made. The total cost of tho bmhhnjr was £4,484 8.9 6d. They would have to push on with, a refrigerating scheme. According to th.e ..-enort from Mr (Jr?,inger it would cost £5.000 for refrigerating space for butter and £2.G00 for space fc-r ebrwo. The Government had bean approached, and he did not think there would be any difficulty in getting their support in tho matter.

Mr T. Parker, who seconded the motion said their store was now an asset to Dun edln.

The report was adopted. A motion was Mr J. A. r.irk. that itwas desirable to proceed forthwith with, the erection of the freezing chamber in the wool stores, and that the action of the directors in the matter, be approved, \vm seconded by Mr Walker and carried unanimously.

The following remit from the Tvaita.ngata Dairy Company was adopted:—"ln consideration of hi* personal interest, work, and fcrosi.u'b'.fc in the interests of the dairy factories, that Mr CI. A. Lamb be personally donated a cheque for 100 guineas."' The following directors were appointed : . Messrs A. Vv. Amos (Momona), S. Bowman (Dimediu), T. Parkei (Stirling), X. Stewart (Waikouaiti). Mr W. K. M'Lean was appointed auditor. , , . The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman, directors, and secretary.
