[Special to the ‘Star.’] CHRISTCHURCH, May 3. Miss Hazel Johnson (Dunedin) was recalled in the recitation for girls 9 and under 12 Mias Miollie Andrews (Dunedin) also competed. In the Dominion recitation, open class, own selection. Miss Vera White (Dunedin) was among the recalls. Mias Maggie Wood (Dunedin) won the piano solo, 13 and under 16, wl |h IoS points, heating Hiss Lawn (St. Albans) 152. The judge said the winner gay© a very fine performance, but had at times been inclined to overdo it. In tho vocal solo for sopranos, own selection, Hiss Donhokn (Oamaaru)_ gained second place in the final, two points behind Miss Smith (Christchurch). •
