The Appeal Court yesterday heard the case of Rex v. Raglan. This was a case of personation at the by-election in Wellington, and had been reserved by Judge Chapman. Accused had been convicted of the offence by applying for a voting paper in the name of another person. The point at issue was whether, under a provision of the Legislature Act, he had committed a further offence by applying for a voting paper in his own name, having once voted at that election. Mr O’Leary appeared for prisoner, and the Solicitorgeneral' for the Crown. Judgment was reserved.
