EMPLOYEES’ DEMANDS FOR HOURSAND WAGES. [Special to the ‘Star.’] CHRISTCHURCH, April 30. A -union has been formed by employees at picture theatres and other theatres in Christdhuirdh. The union have been registered, and dlaims have been presented. 'l'he following hours of work and wages are j cusk-ed :—■ Emplovees sbal’l be at liberty to fix tKo "hour's of work for ail I employees, providiing the hours for each eniployoe shall not exceed 24 hours per week for ticket-sellers and: 56 hours for tickettakers. ~ . . The miniinram wage for trcket-seltexa shall be £2 per week, for ticket-takers £3 per week, for ushers £2 per week. In computing hours of work all time worked on Sundays shall bo counted at double rates. The minimum wage fur caretakers shall bo £4 par week Should the theatres bo used for any purpose on a .Sunday the caretaker shall bo paid in addition to his weekly wages a further sunt of ,10s for each Sunday the theatre is usedTon days’ holiday on: full pay shall be allowed annually at a time convenient to the employer to each caretaker and pjermanent worker coming within the provisions of tiro award.
