LOAN PROPOSALS
SOME CARRIED AXD SOME REJECTED. Wanganiu ratepayers yesterday, by 949 votes to 915, rejected a. proposal by the Borough Council to raise a loan of £45,000 for a water supply, but bv 1,168 votes to 711 authorised the raising* of £22,000 for street improvements. A Harbor Board proposal to raise a, loan of £150,000 for harbor improvements was carried. A proposed harbor loan of £300,000 was carried at New Plymouth by a. substantial majority. Inveravrgill by a ilargc majority .:auctioned a loan of £35.C00 for the extension of the electricity services.
