GERMANY MUST PAY : MESSAGE FROM MR MASSEY.
WELLINGTON, March 18. Mr W. H. Field, M.l’., has received the following reply to a rent to Mr Massey expressing the decided opinion that Germany should pap the full cost of the war :—“ My opinion is that, as Germany was responsible tor the war, Germany must, be compelled to pay even- sovereign which it ;s possible for us to collect. A commission of financial experts _ie now dealing with the question, and their report will give us a reliable indication of Germany’s ability to pay.”
