UNIONS WANT WAR BONUSES. [Feb United Puess Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 18. Before the Arbitration Court the secretary of the Tinsmiths and Sheet Metal Workers’ Union stated that a complete agreement had been arrived at before the Conciliation Council, but the "union now wished to apply for an increased war bonus under the War Regulations _ Act. The employers’ representative asked tlat the application be heard at. the next sitting of the Court. The union must prove that the bonus was necessitated Ly the increased Cost of Living. The President (Mr Justice Stringer) said the union could not make immediate application. A vote of members must be taken first. The Court would hear this and similar applications by other unions next Monday.
