ANDERSONS BAY DRAINAGE
The Works Committee of the City Council will report as follows next Wednesday night: The city engineer lias been instructed to prepare and submit a scheme for the drainage of the Anderson Bay and Tainui districts, and the matter wili be reported on to council at an early date. In tho meantime, the committee have been called upon, as a matter of urgency, to make some provision for dealing with the drainage from several of the large institutions in Anderson Bay, more particularly from Karitane Hospital, which is at present served by a septic tank. Tha sewer to serve these institutions would form part of the main drainage scheme, and with a view to having the work proceeded with at the earliest possible date the Town Clerk has been instructed to take the necessary steps under Section 69 of the Public Health Act, 1918, to obtain the approval of the Minister of Public Health to the raising of a loan' of £3,000, bySpecial Order, to cover the cost of the proposed work. When the matter is further advanced fall particulars of the proposal will be submitted to council.
